“An Investment Forum Celebrating the Panama Canal’s Centennial”

June 2014
Dear Friend(s) of Panama:

Panama’s growth, coupled with the Canal expansion, investment grade rating, aggressive infrastructure program and attractiveness to Multinationals as a result of Law 47, has made it into one of the most stable countries in the region in which to invest. On May 4th, 75% of the electorate turned out in an election that reassured once more Panama’s commitment to democracy. On July 1st, a new administration takes office led by Juan Carlos Varela. The incoming administration has vowed to continue Panama’s economic and social development with improvements in execution and transparency.

August 15th, marks a historic day in which the country celebrates the Centennial of the Panama Canal. During this time the U.S.-Panama Business Council is organizing a Trade Mission with an exciting and interesting program. On Thursday 14th there will be a forum, lunch with keynote speaker, investment roundtable, and reception overlooking the city skyline. On Friday 15th there will be a VIP tour of the Canal’s expansion, lunch, and in the evening participation in the Panama Canal’s Centennial celebration and official ceremony. If interested in staying though Sunday, an optional tourism program will be organized for Saturday 16th at an extra cost of $100. Hotel rate will stay the same through Sunday.

The trade mission’s official hotel will be the new Royal Sonesta located in Panama City’s financial sector where we have negotiated an attractive rate. Arrangements have been made with United Airlines for participants to enjoy a discount on their airfare. Details are included in the registration form.

Please consider joining us in this exciting program. There is limited number of registrations and they will be confirmed on a first-come first-served basis. Should you have any questions please contact Juan B. Sosa at (713) 426-0554 or e-mail uspanama@msn.com or Enrique Sosa at (917) 626-8685 or e-mail enriquesosa.ny@gmail.com. We look forward to your participation celebrating the Panama Canal’s Centennial.

Sincerely,

Ambassador Juan B. Sosa
